The permanence and stability of God’s Word gave the Psalmist something to cling to in the middle of affliction. It was something to anchor to when everything else was falling apart. The Word of God had become his delight. When the Psalmist is going through affliction, the stability of God’s Word keeps him from perishing. Praise the Lord, we can always trust God’s Word that never fails!
