King Solomon was certainly a wise and brilliant man; but the more he learned, the more grieved he became. The more knowledge he received, the more sorrow entered into his heart. His head was full, but his life and still empty. This is the same condition of so many people in our world today. Knowledge can bring joy and not sorrow when we know the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only when we know Him and live in obedience to Him that we find true joy and satisfaction in life. Without Christ in His proper place, knowledge only brings greater sorrow.
