I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Isaiah 43:25

Have you ever said to someone, “I did it because I wanted to”? Today, I would like to take a moment to remind you of God’s grace. God forgives us for His own sake, He forgives because it is important to Him, because He wants to. He is so good to us, more than we deserve and more than we realize. I am so glad God has removed and forgotten my sins. There are so many things that I am not proud of in my past, but they are gone. I have confessed them and turned from them. He doesn’t remember them, why should I? If you have confessed your sins to God and asked for forgiveness, you can trust Him to forgive and to keep His Word. You are forgiven and you don’t have to remember them anymore.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. Isaiah 44:22
Twice within a short space, God tells us He has blotted out our sins. The word “blotteth” is used in the present tense. It is something God is always doing. It is not something God has done and never will do again, but forgivenesss is given to us always. We can be thankful for God’s love and forgiveness towards us daily. God never stops forgiving, isn’t God good?
David, the author of Pslams, penned it correctly when he says in Psalms 103:10-14,
“10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.”
God understands your struggles and He understands your hurt, you can trust Him to help and to take care of you. He knows that there are times when you are weak, ask Him to help you, to lift you up and He will. Don’t take advantage of God’s grace because you feel that you cannot have victory, “15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” Romans 6:15
Call on God today for forgiveness, ask Him to help you turn from wrongdoing, and remember He loves you more than you know and you are important to Him.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9
